Cookie Policy
Effective date: [Effective date]
We keep this simple. Right now we only use storage the site needs to work. We don't use analytics or advertising cookies.
1. What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser. Local storage is a similar feature that lets a website save small pieces of information on your device.
UK law (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations) treats both the same way. Storage that is strictly necessary to provide a service you ask for can be used without consent. Anything else needs your permission first.
2. What we use now
Everything below is strictly necessary. It is always on, because the site can't work properly without it.
| Name | Set by | Type | Purpose | How long |
|---|---|---|---|---|
sb-gzxbidixqmhynjugyikw-auth-token |
Supabase (our login provider) | Local storage | Keeps you signed in to your account and course. | Until you sign out, or the session expires |
st-consent |
The Sigma Trader | Local storage | Remembers your cookie choice so we don't ask on every page. | 12 months, then we ask again |
The Supabase sign-in item is only created when you log in. Visitors who never log in will only have the cookie-choice item.
3. Third-party services
- Stripe: when you pay, Stripe may set its own cookies to process the payment and prevent fraud. These are strictly necessary. [Confirm whether checkout happens on Stripe's own page (Stripe Checkout) or is embedded on our site. If embedded, list Stripe's cookies here, e.g. __stripe_mid and __stripe_sid.] See Stripe's cookie policy.
- Google Fonts: our fonts load from Google's servers. Google does not set cookies for this, but it does receive your IP address so it can send the font files.
- Hosting: our website is hosted by Hostinger. [Confirm Hostinger sets no cookies on this site, or list any it does]
- Videos: our course videos are hosted by us, so no video platform sets cookies when you watch.
4. Optional categories (not in use)
We may add these in future. They are off by default and will only ever turn on if you click "Accept all".
| Category | What it would do | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Analytics | Help us understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are popular, so we can improve it. | Not in use. Off by default. |
| Marketing | Measure our adverts or show you relevant adverts on other sites. | Not in use. Off by default. |
Before we start using any of these, we will update this page with the exact cookies and providers, and ask for your choice again.
5. Managing your choice
When you first visit, a banner at the bottom of the page lets you accept all or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your mind at any time:
You can also clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings. If you clear the sign-in item, you will be logged out. If you clear the cookie-choice item, we will show the banner again.
6. Changes to this policy
We will update this page if the cookies we use change, and change the effective date at the top.
